Boiler manufacturers recommend that you contract the services of an OFTEC Registered Technician like myself to service your oil appliance.
An annual boiler service and safety check including an OFTEC CD11 and TI133/D form, carried out by me ensures that your boiler is functioning properly. Regular servicing of your boiler is important as it ensures that the boiler is working to the specifications designed by the boiler manufacturer. This will help prolong the life of the boiler as well as reduce the risk of faults and expensive repairs down the line.
A service is €100 for a standard efficiency oil boiler and €120 for a high efficiency condensing oil boiler, non service parts are extra. Please contact me for commercial servicing rates.
Since September 2009, Irish Boiler manufacturers have issued a Boiler Passport with every new boiler sold. The boiler passport is a booklet containing a Commissioning Certificate and a number of Annual Service Report Forms and needs to be completed and returned for your warranty.
When I commission your new boiler I will check to see that it is installed to current building regulations and the combustion settings will be fine tuned for the particular installation location. I will complete the commissioning certificate in the passport and return it to the manufacturer on your behalf. Service Report forms will then need to be filled in annually as part of a service and will remain in the passport.
Commissioning of a new high efficiency oil boiler costs €90. Please contact me for commercial commissioning rates.
Noticeable changes in your oil appliances performance precede most mechanical failures. If you notice a change in boiler performance such as new noises, smells, rising radiator temperatures, excessively hot tap water or continually resetting safety devices, you should give me a call and have it checked out.
The total cost of a call out will depend on the fault diagnosed and the parts required to fix the fault. I will quote for parts involved before carrying out any repairs and most repairs would be completed within the first hour. I can accept credit or debit cards for all of my services.
I charge €70 for a domestic call-out, and this includes the first hour of labour on site. Please contact me for commercial callout and hourly rates.
As part of a Council HAP inspection landlords will be required to obtain “A current periodic inspection report from a suitably competent person (e.g. OFTEC registered technician) proving that the oil installation in the house is safe and is in proper working order.”
I can inspect and complete OFTEC control documentation including a CD12 form to verify and record an installations safe operation and compliance and also a TI133/D Domestic Oil Storage Tank Spillage and Fire Risk Assessment report for Clare County Council or your insurance company
I charge €90 to call out to your property including reports. Please contact me for your commercial certificate requirements.
